Hot news from Arrebita!

Hello ladies and gentlemen! It has been almost two weeks since our arrival in Porto and we (team 7) have some interesting updates for you all!

On Monday the first load of materials has arrived to the construction site - the international team together with the construction workers unloaded the wood beams, the metal profiles, the insulation panels and the tiles. Although we encountered some communication problems in blocking the traffic for the truck and  with bringing up to the first floor some heavy materials, everything is ready for the roof to be constructed!

On Tuesday we went for an Archicad Workshop to Matosinhos, we learned the basics of the program through which the Arrebita technical design was carried out throughout the project. We thank again to our partner INFOR for doing this! http://www.infor.pt/.

Today we went on the construction site for an early morning meeting with the technical expert from our partner

Cobert. Fernando Pisoeiro has explained the workers and us how to assemble the roof system (profiles, insulation and tiles). 

At the moment we are trying to build a light structure podium for the initial speech at the grand opening event scheduled for this Friday! So, who’s joining us?

Team 7 says Hello!

Hi followers, we are Team 7 and we would like to inform you that we all have arrived in Porto! We are Filippo Lafleur (Italy), Philippe Mendez (France), Vladimiro Gonçalves (Portugal), Alexandra Mutuleanu (Romania) and Margarida Martins (Portugal). Thanks to Bruno, Claudia and Greg we got to know the pilot projects through the booklet as well as the A!box modular design, which we will try to further develop.

Meanwhile, from landfill unloading works and some visit to the construction site, to getting familiar to the project and praying for a more “southern European” weath­er, we look forward to meet the architects and engineers tomorrow in order to discuss the ideas and possible solutions that came up in the last few days.

Visit of Roteiro de Empreendedorismo Social

Hello everybody, 

in our last days we were very busy but we found the time for some of our bravest followers. 

Today we had our “speech” in front of the participants of “Roteiro de Empreendedorismo Social”, organised by one of our partners - IES. They are involved in a project that is going to spread all kinds of social entrepreneur initiatives beyond the city centre of Porto, through out the metropolitan area like Santo Tirso ou Santa Maria da Feira. 

After Rita explained what Arrebita is and Team 6 members talked about their amazing experiences, we visited the building and had the opportunity to see the beginning of the construction. Demolitions started yesterday and they already removed the tiles from the roof so... Team 7 bring an umbrella! ROTFL

We’re back on the track!

Very productive last few days resulted in singed contract with TOPDOMUS and finally we see a very bright future ahead of us. TOPDOMUS gave us a very competitive prize for the demolition of the old structure, roof renovation and hopefully new floor structure. This price however, takes into account our involvement in works on-site.

In the while we are taking archaeologist classes and making surveys of the walls. We will leave our cosy office and get some fresh air activity while unloading trucks and assisting workers.

We also have a surprise for you! If everything goes as planned we will be broadcasting the progress of works from Rua Reboleira online. While we try to obtain the permission to film in public premises  try out our current broadcast. Our time had almost passed! As we told you : The Best is yet to come but now at least it is sooner than later. We signed and sealed, TEAM7 will deliver!
